Christian Education

Christian Education

There are several different aspects of the Christian Education program at Christ Lutheran. These include:

·   Sunday School: There are Sunday School classes for youth (starting at age 3) and adults alike. Sunday School begins at 9:30 am when the youth gather to sing songs, give an offering, celebrate birthdays, and hear announcements.  From there they go to their respective classes.  The adult class, called FAITH Experience, meets at the same time in the Parish Hall.

·   Confirmation Classes:  Pastor leads the confirmation classes at Christ Lutheran.  These classes, which youth usually begin during the 7th grade, are for two years.  Upon completing all of the requirements, the youth are confirmed in the faith during a special worship service in the spring.

·   Confirmation Camp:  It is strongly suggested that all youth who go through our confirmation program also attend at least one week of confirmation camp.  This week is spent with other confirmands from our congregation, and it is a great time for group bonding and faith growth.

·   Cross-Generational Activities:  Throughout the year, we take time to emphasize the importance of relationships between the generations.  We plan activities during Sunday School time that will bring the different generations of our congregation together.

·   Evening Study Group:  Pastor meets with a group on Tuesday evenings to discuss scripture and other literature and subjects in the context of our Christian faith.

·   Practicing Our Faith Study Group :  Pastor meets with a group weekly.  To learn more about this study group, and read this week's topic, click here.
